Martians vs. Earthlings

If you’ve ever wondered what it might be if Mars was pitted against Earth in a sporting bout, you wouldn’t be the only one.

Even though Mars’s population is sustained by steady immigration from Earth, there is a significant number of native-born humans. With sports quickly becoming part of colony culture, it is natural to want to see how things would consists but there are just too many factors that make a such a line up impossible, or at least highly unlikely.

For now, the best we could do is to pit native-born Martians against those who have come from Earth. And, as luck would have it, there is rumblings of such an ‘all-star’ match up.

There has been a general reluctance to divide colonists with this kind of competition. Viewed as potentially fuelling social discrimination within colonies. However, the desire does persist. People want to know beyond the simulations, which tend to statistically favour Earth.
