Wuji will be starting off the season in rotten shape and not only because of their dismal display in their first season.
Tiangong has been plagued by widespread issues with the colony's environment controls. Mold infestations have produced a foul, rotten odour that is being circulated through the entire facility. To make matters worse, the right solution will require a complete replacement of filtration equipment, which could take weeks.
To defend one’s championship title requires one’s defence to be just as good if not better than in the previous year. And balanced defence was a calling card for the Marineris Comets led by Defender of the year, Stephen Liu.
The crisis continues to unfold on Earth after last week's devastation. The series of earthquakes have taken a global toll affecting countries that straddle the boundaries of the Ring of Fire. Japan and the West American Quadrant were the hardest hit. The exact loss of life is still unknown after the initial wave of tectonic activity began 6 days ago, but hundreds of thousands are thought to have perished.
MAFL clubs have been upgrading equipment to meet new specifications and updates for safety, but some clubs have taken the opportunity to come back for season 2 in style.
Season 2 of MAFL is just weeks away as Aiger Masing confirms the weekend of Mathuna 7th for the first round of matches.
It will be the original 8 clubs returning with the majority of players as the league enforces a restrictions on roster changes.

Season 2 is finally underway, but could there be troubles for the MAFL with player retention?
In the off-season, 7 players made the decision to hang up their cleats and walk away from the game. In the grand scheme of things, it is only 7 out of the more than 140 players across the 8 clubs, but there are serious fears that this could be just the beginning of a much larger exodus.
Week 3 of MAFL Season 2 sees the Dynamos secure another victory, Nash and Ekberg trade shots in Huacheng, Immortals struggle to break their losing streak, and the Comets and E. United face off in Europa.
Lian's move from Dongji to Wuji has been regarded by many Dongji fans as a betrayal of his home colony. Dongji gained forward Jai Cheng, and midfielder Anne-Marije Feston out of the trade.
Week 4 of MAFL Season 2 sees the Dynamos lose their first game of the season, bringing their winning streak to an end. Lanka is still the suffering hero of the Immortals. Season 1 rivals, Comets and Titans face off at San Olympus.

Comets suffer 3rd consecutive loss while Amrita Immortals continue their winless season despite captain, Lanka, being the league top scorer with 7 goals.
This week in MAFL—major injuries strike both Europa United and Dynamos, frustration continues to mount over the Immortal’s performance, rivals Dongji and Wuji meet on the field to battle it out. Meanwhil, Darkeem Dennis of Europa United steadily closes in on Nash and Lanka for top scorer.
Immortals break the curse and finally log a win. Comets have exciting 5 goal victory at expense of Dong Ji. Al’amal joins Dynamo and United at top of standings with 5 wins a piece.
Europa may be losing goalkeeper Kevin Sulzberg to Wendland’s season 3 expansion. Sulzberg has been an instrumental player for the United club, so the prospects of losing him is a real concern for fans and owners.
This week, Al’amal racks up the bookings with 3 red cards called, and the Comets are slowly but surely moving up the rankings. Meanwhile, the Dynamos winning streak has crumbled and Dongji has steadily slid down the rankings to tie with the Immortals.
Dust storms delay starts on Saturni as both Amrita and Europa.
Dynamo, Wuji and United tied with 6 wins a piece in the standings. Comets take 4 in a row while the Immortals continue to struggle.
Rolling into the 9th week of play, the field of top scoring players are the familiar stars from season one – with a few notable absentees including Stephen Liu (Comets) and Musaddiq Baddour (Al’amal) . As player’s skills develop and evolve with their respective teammates, which ones will be consistent enough to stay on top?
This week in MAFL, Titans are crippled by a shortage of offensive players, Dongji is left in the dust after their match with Al'amal, Comets surpass in scoring but lag in the standings, Dynamos win their match to reclaim first place in the standings.
Leading up to our mid-season break, we see the 3 underdog teams of the season upsetting the order as Titans, Dongji, and Al’amal claimed the victories this week. The Dynamos stay the course as they win another match to push their total wins up to 8 matches.
Columbia Hills is slated to join the MAFL in season 3, however, building a team with a small population base is proving harder than expected.
We see extremely close matches this week as the clubs battle it out on the pitch. The Immortals a shaken as Coach Cezar Veduva is fired following the match. Meanwhile, Lanka has some serious competition from Nash as he finally ties with Lanka for the top scorer.
As the MAFL players get a break at the halfway point of Season 2, we can take a look at how things are shaping up, some of the biggest surprises of the season, and where we think things are heading.
Lots of surprises this week, as the Titans best United and the Immortals snatch a victory from the Comets. Meanwhile, Al’amal and Dynamos are neck and neck as they are currently tied on the standings.
Week 14 of MAFL sees the Immortals continue their careful string of victories. Meanwhile the playing field has been drastically evened out as Al’amal and United have climbed onto equal footing with the Dynamos. We have 8 matches left in the season to determine which teams will be facing off in the MAFL Season 2 Finals!
The League is in mourning again this week, as tragedy struck team Dongji immediately following their match against the Titans.
We see major shifts in the standings this week as the Titans climb their way into the top 3. Dongji has decided to continue playing and they face-off this week against the Comets. The Dynamos are steadily dropping on the standings—can they regain their position before the finals?
The MAFL and Dong Ji have confirmed that they will press on with the season schedule next weekend. Originally planned as an away game, the Comets have agreed to play in Huacheng to allow for a pre-game memorial service to honour Hou.
The tides have turned as we head into the final 5 matches of season 2. We see some major shifts in the standings as the Titans unbelievably find themselves among the top three of the standings, and with the most goals scored. The Comets have been the season’s biggest disappointment so far despite a solid scoring record.
Dramatic shifts continue to be the main trend for MAFL season 2 as Dongji plays their best game of the season only to lose 2 of their forwards to injuries. It’s unsure whether Dongji will be able to continue playing through to the finals in this state. Meanwhile, both the Titans and United have secured a place in the playoffs, while the Dynamos, Al’amal, and Wuji contend for their places.
Teams this week battled over the coveted spots in the semi-finals with extremely close calls between Amrita, Tiangong as they attempt to overtake Al’amal on the standings.
Dongji pockets a win after an unexpected move to fill their roster with a technician and their club trainer. They might have been the lowest ranking team this season, but this was definitely one of the highlight matches.
United shuts out the Titans in the battle for first seas, while an Immortals win and Al’amal loss in week 20 sets the stage for a fight for the last playoff spot.
Three weeks before the Season 2 Finals; underdog Immortals have come a long way since the beginning of the season to challenge Al’amal for a chance to be the MAFL Season 2 champions.
The line ups for the semifinals have been confirmed as MAFL heads into season holidays. Scheduled for Tula 11, the semi’s will have Europa United, Amrita Immortals, San Olympus Titans, and Novyimir Dynamos face off for a shot at the MAFL Season 2 Championships!
A thrilling return to season 2 of the MAFL Championships after a two week break sees the semifinalists face-off for a shot at the championships. Europa United and the Amrita Immortals walk away from the matches as victors.
They will prepare to face-off on Tula 25 for the final showdown!
In an incredibly close game that was tied in the final seconds of regulation, United claims the title of MAFL Champion after beating out the Immortals by a hair in extra time!
